Welcome.

Welcome to my SharePoint blog.

The purpose behind this blog is to be a way for me to remember all of the problems I resolve while consulting on SharePoint – including the symptoms, troubleshooting steps I’ve gone through and the final resolution. My hope is that it saves others from wasting time trying to resolve these same issues.

It will also serve as a repository for resources I’ve used while implementing SharePoint and information on related technologies (eg SQL, Windows Server, Licencing, Active Directory, Exchange, Information Rights Management Server, Live Communications Server, IIS, Office etc).

Finally, it will be a semi-permanent repository of this information – I will copy the information from other sources as well as providing links to the original content. One of the biggest problems of today’s web is that people link to other web pages. Companies then rebrand, merge, get swallowed up, change their page naming system and rename pre-existing page URL’s (I’m looking at you Microsoft). Until I move into another field of work (in 5-10 years time when I have my mid-life crisis and become a florist) I will use this as a way of capturing point-in-time information.

Let’s get started…

About Brad Saide

I'm a SharePoint consultant. I'm also slowly going bald, seem to have a permanent spare tyre around my waist and enjoy socialising with friends over a beer or 10. The last 2 may possibly be related. Started working with SharePoint when the first version was in limited beta release (participated in the Technology Adoption Program while at Woolworths) and have been committed to the adoption of the technology as a business enabler ever since.
