Finally – a way to install WSS 3 onto Vista! WOOHOO!

Bamboo Solutions have come up with a way of installing WSS 3 onto Windows Vista. Developers everywhere, rejoice! No longer do we have to run a separate VM / VPC with a server OS on it just to develop against WSS 3.

They have all the information here – hopefully Microsoft will not issue a takedown notice (which would be an incredible shame… I mean, it’s an unsupported configuration… and it’s a free download from the MS website… but a similar sort of thing’s happened before). It looks like they acknowledge its existence but refuse to have anything to do with it.
